Our fabrics can be used in infinite ways, and we love to see what you come up with. Most commonly, our fabric is used for covering furniture, creating pillows and cushions, and hanging as window-coverings. Patterned fabric has a magic ability to transform existing furniture or worn vintage finds into something emotional & truly individual through re-upholstery. We encourage the DIY spirit for simple pieces like foot stools or dining chairs.

Tips for Working With an Upholsterer
1. Show the professional your item together with a swatch of your chosen fabric before ordering yardage. Our printed fabrics have great upholstery results, but depending on the project, the upholsterer may wish to treat or add a knit-back to the fabric.
2. A good upholsterer can do (almost) anything! Consider cording, tufting, skirts, and other design touches, even if the piece doesn’t currently have them. Bring inspirational images of what you like, and what you don’t like.
3. If the fabric design has various motifs, mention which you would like to be at the center of the item.
4. Depending on the age and condition of your piece, it may require some fixes to the interior structure, such as new springs, new foam padding, or varnish to the legs. Be prepared for these issues to arise once the upholsterer has stripped the item.
